School Hockey: Children’s Academy & St. Anne’s mov

Childrens Academy ( Malad ) qualify for the last four in the MSSA Inter School Hockey Tournament played at the MHA Mahindra Stadium. Children’s Academy overcame a stiff challenge posed by St.Francis D’Assisi H.S ( Borivali ) by 2-0 margin after playing out a barren first session of play. Sanket Dhotre displayed brilliantly for Children’s Academy as he not only converted an indirect penalty corner but also manned the defence alongwith the others behind. Anurag Sharma added the 2nd goal in the 50th minute’s ie.final hooter which increased the tally 2-0 in the boys under 16 year’s category.

St.Anne’s H.S ( Malad ) qualified for the semis by squeezing pass St.Stanislaus H.S ( Bandra ) by a slender margin of 2-1 . Sanborh Aranjo and Kenon D’Lima scored the goals for St.Anne’s and H.S.Shane Fletcher scored for St.Stanislaus H.S. in the U-16 years boys category.

In the boys under 14 years play off ties played earlier on St.Andrew’s H.S ( Bandra ) beat Don Bosco H.S ( Borivli ) by 4-1 margin. Ninad Lad, Sunit Devkar, Vijay Patil and Aniket Gawas scored each goal for the winners and Raoul Ross D’Souza reduced the margin for the looser.

Don Bosco ‘A’ ( Marunga ) beat H.A.B Academy ‘A’ by 4-0. Quenttin Britto ( 2 goals ) Romario Drego & Rithik Aunja scored each for the winners. Both St.Anbdrew’s H.S and Don Bosco ‘A’ qualify for semi finals.
