Our school has been very fortunate to have the presence of Professor Paramjit Singh Randhawa M.A.MPhil of DA V College. He is very passionate about’ Hockey’ and is promoting it tirelessly.
He gave a very inspiring message regarding hockey, our National as well as Traditional game to the staff and the students. He gave talk on the dying spirit of Hockey. He further mentioned the legend Major Dyan Chand who became the house hold name in the country during his stint as the ‘Captain’ of hockey. India is proud of the eight Gold medals brought subsequently. Professor also mentioned the recent laurels brought to the country in ‘Olympics’ for whom we are very proud of through the rows of India belong to a very humble back ground.
He further referred children to watch and understand the message of the movie ‘Chak De India’ and slogan of the movie.
The Principal Mrs.Paramjeet Kaur Sandhu gave a very enthusiastic response regarding the promotion of our national game hockey. On this occasion she presented students with new hockey sticks. Children were so inspired that they danced to the tune of ‘Chak De India’ and other patriotic songs. Mrs. Sandhu further encouraged students to make very strong hockey teams of juniors and seniors both of boys and girls.
The school management has been generous in providing grounds and other sports facilities. Children from both city and villages are part of this school hockey being more popular in villages. So the children from the village backgrounds can give better performance.
The Professor urged all the social and the religious sects to encourage the children to take interest in this game and save it from declining. He also mentioned about the ‘Namdhari’, the team which reckons in the Indian hockey scene.
Therefore, future of our hockey is in the hands of our youth and it is they the future of our nation to save our national game and give it a new life by embracing it ‘Jai hockey’.

HOCKEY is being introduced in every school nowdays which is only bcoz of the efforts of Prof. Paramjit Singh Randhawa….he is visiting different schools in amritsar to encourage the young students to take hockey as their game…it is a great step taken by him and this will create a huge impact on the youths of our country….”yeh to abhi shuruaat hai aage aage dekho hota hai kya”….hockey will surely achieve its greatest heights in the coming days….and will be on the TOP one day…
Now itz a great oppurtunity for india to prove themselves that they are master in hockey….Bcoz INDIA IS NOW GOING TO HOST THE WORLD CUP FOR MEN’S HOCKEY 2010 IN DELHI….i wish them best of luck to achieve great heights in hockey…

Why these days Punjab is forgetting hockey & becoming interested in cricket?
So, to come forward in hockey game All Punjabi should boycott cricket.
I had studied in this school.This school had a very big playground and This ground was good for nothing before hockey was played on it but with introduction of hockey in this school,the ground is blessed and the chance is given to hockey to grow.So,it up students studing in school…BEST OF LUCK…
nice to see such good grounds for kids.
but i still believe that government should give kids to play on astro turfs. Thats how kids in Europe and Korea are trained. plus kids should be given proper kits to b safe on the field. If possible the kids should also be exposed to different softwares. I may have gone a bit far but its important to give this reality check out.
