Saturday, February 06, 2010: Sea View S/C ( Bandra ) downed Khalsa College Sports Association ( Matunga ) by a narrow margin of 2-1 in the MHA first division league match played today at the MHA Mahindra Stadium.
Both youthful sides displayed superb skillful field hockey however, Sea View S/C went into earlier lead in the 18th minutes by Prthvi Raj Salunkhe converted their 2nd penalty corner indirectly 1-0 . Sea View S/C hanged on to the slender lead till the lemon break. After change of ends Sea View S/C added the 2nd goal in the 42nd minutes. Rahul Zore clinically finished at the spot a combined move crafted by Amar Kharande and Gaurav Kamble ( 2-0 ). Thereafter the stunged Khalsa CSA youngsters launched vigorous raids but were only able to pull one back in the dying minutes. Rohan Mhatre converted a indirect penalty corner in the 57th minutes whatsoever Khalsa CSA earned 9 p.c compared to Sea View S/C 4 p.c both sides converted one each while other’s p.c went abortive. Khalsa CSA strikers messed upfront fine chances which ruined their victory chances.
In the 2nd division league match Rhmea Sports outplayed NACIL by 7-0. Ajinkya scored 4 goals (including a hat-trick) Karan, Carl and Clifford Fernandes socred a goal each for the winners.
In the 3rd division league match W.Rly.M’bai Division outclass BARC by 9-2 . Anand Sondkar ( 3 goals ), Ingo Singh ( 3 goals ) Jagdish Yadav ( 3 goals ) , N.S.Bhamra and Anubhav scored one each for the loosers
