See who represents whom?

We saw it in March this year. When the whole India was up against adamant Gill, an assembly of famed and legendary Olympians lined up before him for the cameras.

To keep up their Olympian spirit in letter and spirit, another Olympian has come forward now to do the same for a different peron in a different city.

We were told an Executive Committee Meeting of the Tamil Nadu Hockey Association was held in Ariyalur (near Trichy) yesterday (Friday) and it has decided to send its Finance Committee Chairman Vasudevan Baskaran (So whatever financial irregularity are pointed out against the TNHA, which took cheque on its name for the last Champions Trophy, seemd to have been managed by this Committee?) as one of its representatives to present its case before the Tamil Nadu Olympic Association. TNOA has recently formed a three-member committee to decide the fate of TNHA after a rival faction claimed its election and own set of officer bearers.

Now the group owing allegience to the disgraced TNHA Secretary, the sting fame K. Jothikumaran has formed a committee of six persons. It includes V. Baskaran – V Kuppusamy – Jabarathnam
Venkatachalam – Udayakumar & Pandarinathan.

So this committee will prove before the TNOA that its present secretary, the sting laden one, is THE Ssecretary in pepetuity. Leading the group is our Baskaran, yes, yes, the Padamshree one. Everyone has their own voice and choice in a democratic set up to do whatever they thing is correct, we are only trying to point out the similarity of support base for the previous regime.

Even today, if a poll is conducted among the Olympians as to who is suitable for the IHF presidency, the Gill-Jothi combine will romp home with two third majority. I have no doubt about this. From Ajit Pal in North, Gurbux Singh from East, MP Ganesh-V. Baskaran from South and Carvalho-MM Somaya from West, Gill has widest possible support base from amidst the Olympian community.

Let us see how much and how far Baskaran extends a helping hand to his friend in need, Jothi?

This is the fate of hockey, its own people are hell bent on digging its own graveyard. And everyone of them otherwise gives an impression the are only laying the foundation stone for resurrecting hockey!!!
