Election officer SK Sham submitted his report to Bakshi and secretary Kehar Singh on Wednesday. In his five-page report, Sham has categorically rejected Gurbux Singh’s request for a re-poll for the post of secretary. “I have to say that this cannot be granted as I do not have any convincing reasons to do so on mere presumption of manipulation,” Sham said in his report. He also expressed his surprise over the allegations of rigging. “Except for a couple of excited persons, members of both the groups have given me excellent co-operation. I do not know how and why the canard of rigging is being raised,” he stated.

Gurbux has already lodged a police complaint against the procedure at the Marine Lines police station on Tuesday. An aggrieved Gurbux said: “Let’s hope the president will make sense of things. This will not be the end of it. We have already filed a police complaint and many things will follow, we cannot even rule out the court case.”
