Ace forward Shivendra Singh marries Nishi Chauhan, an international player, a couple of days ago.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, a known hockey buff and promoter, greeted the couple in the reception held in Gwalior yesterday.

Nishi works in Indian Railways, where Shivendra Singh worked formerly before joining the top notch outfit Air India.

Stick2hockey.com and its visitors wholeheartedly wish the hockey couple a happy married life.

With Silver in CWG and another medal in the Asian Games, Shivendra must be entering the wedlock in an added happy frame of mind.

In India, hockey couple are neither common nor uncommon. Its there. The two hockey stars thus further make up the colourful hockey canvas of India.

After the 1998 Asian Games, right wingers Mukesh Kumar and Nidhi Kullar married (‘Golden Boot’ carries their marriage photo).

In Shivendra’s case too both are forwards.

It seems this is hockey’s wedding season.

Last Sunday, Arjuna Awardee Surinder Kaur’s marriage took place in Haryana.

Some other famous hockey couples that comes across one’s mind right now include Rajbir Rai-Gurmail Singh, Rahul Singh-Satnam Kaur, Pritamrani – Kuldeep Singh and others.
