Khalsa school, Badal club win titles

HOCKEY TOURNAMENTS

Srinagar, Oct 24: The Khalsa high school and Badal club lifted the junior and senior district Srinagar hockey titles respectively at Polo ground on Thursday.

The day began with the final match of the junior category in which Khalsa high school defeated Friends club by 4-2 goals. For winning team Balbir scored twice while as Kamlapreet and Amandeep scored one goal each. For Friends club Bony Beer Singh and Jagmeet Singh scored one goal each. With this win Khalsa high school lifted the district Srinagar junior hockey title.

In the senior category, Badal club defeated Islamia college in the final by 4-2 goals. For the winning team, Pardeep Singh scored twice while as Mohinderpal and Amitpal scored one goal each. For Islamia college Nowshad and Tahir scored one goal each.

The J&K state sports council, sports officer M S Baba who was the chief guest on the occasion distributed prizes among the winning teams.

The tournaments were organized by J&K hockey association.
