ROURKELA: The 21st Sub Junior Girls National Hockey Championship will begin here from tomorrow, the 24th August. 25 states including defending champions Haryana and runners up Jharkhand have confirmed their participation. The eight day championship will be played at the two venues – Sports Hostel Ground, Panposh and Biju Patnaik Hockey stadium, sector-5, Rourkela. The inaugural and closing ceremony will be held at Sports Hostel ground, Panposh.
All the 25 participating teams have been divided into eight groups and winner from each group will move into the quarterfinals. The groups are:
Group’A’- Haryana, Bihar, Tamil Nadu
Group’B’- Delhi, Mumbai, Kerala
Group’C’- Chandigarh, Gwalior, Assam
Group’D’- Orissa, Mizoram, Uttrakhand
Group’E’- Uttar Pradesh, PEPSU, Vidarbha
Group ‘F’- Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh
Group ‘G’- Chhatishgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh
Group ‘H’- Jharkhand, Karnataka, Bhopal
