Sultan of Johor Cup opens today, India takes on the host

Eleven winters have passed since the first Sultan of Johor Cup was put on board. The hosts Malaysia who won the inaugural edition, takes on Malaysia today (06.30 PM IST) in the opener. India has sent a reasonably experienced team with Udham Singh at the helm. Junior World Cup players like Sudeep Chirmako, Araijeet Singh Hundal and Shradanand Tiwari lend strength to the team. The Cup was not held last two years due to COVID – 19 interruption.

Malaysia’s former women’s national team coach CR Kumar is in charge of the Indian team.
