Harendra Singh will be the chief coach, with the same support staff who were in duty during the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games last year. The Indian camp will start on 15th in New Delhi.

For another two months, the essence of Judgement passed by the Supreme Court previously will hold with regard to affiliating national federation for hockey and coaching staff.

It means that the Indian national team’s affair will be looked after by Hockey India for another two months. This is the first impression of the Supreme Court’s order today.

I think this is a big step backwards. I’d preferred Brasa back, but there was a lot of opposition from ‘former greats’ (who are now useless, egotistic dinosaurs with no interest in improving our pathetic fortunes)and he stood no chance of continuing. This is the reality of Indian hockey. One step forward followed by 3 steps back. I expect our results to go from bad to worse under Harendra and we may miss out on the Olympics in 2012.That is what we deserve for the comical way the sport is (mis)administered in India. The SC’s decision to let HI continue for another 2 months is also what I expected, when a strong decision to kill off one faction would have been the much better option. Just maddening rubbish.

Dear Ajeet Singh Ji, I feel it is unfair to say that India will not qualify if X or Y is the coach. Once a decision is taken by the competent people, we, the true fans of the sport, need to support Indian hockey.
