Talwinder suspended for two International matches

Indian player Talwinder Singh has been suspended for two matches for his acts of foul in the ongoing Sultan of Johor Cup.

Talwinder Singh, 17, was shown red-card yesterday during the Malaysia match, seen him rushing to the area of scuffle that took place far away from where was standing.

India lost the contest 1-5 yesterday, and thus failed to make it to the final.

He was seen using stick against a Malaysian player.

Tournament Director Munir Md. called the Indian management and inquired two Indian players, Talwinder Singh and Harpreet Singh, another player who got red-card suspension yesterday. Harpreet’s red card suspension came barely 15 seconds remained for the hooter.

Indian management has accepted the decision, and is not going to lodge any protest.

India did not have any international tournament for Under-21 age group. This youngster from Surjit Hockey Academy, Jalandhar, have to wait for long before getting selected for another tournament an then pass out the two match suspension.
