FIH President Els van Breda Vriesman expressed surprise that the tournament director Julia Ellis did not turn up for media brief despite written request from the section of global media here.
´She should have come. But are you sure did she receive your letter?´´. FIH president queried me. After satisfying with my answer, she said TD should have come and briefed the media.
She further said that she saw the match on television and was worried some umpires commit mistakes.
She was full of praise for Indian team that is showing tremendous potential here.
