BANGALORE: Bangalore University with an all-win record in the four-team Super League regained the South Zone inter-University men’s hockey title.

At the SAI Couth Centre grounds here on Sunday, former champion Bangalore humbled last year’s winner Annamalai 4-2 to finish with six points.

University of Madras finished second, true to its last year’s standings, blanking Bharathidasan 4-0 in the final league matches of the tournament.

The results: Super League: University of Madras 4 (R. Ashok Kumar 34th, Karthikeyan 38th, Maria Stalin 40th, Selva Kumar 58th) bt Bharathidasan University 4-0; Bangalore University Nithin Thimmaiah ninth & 19th, Naeemuddin 11th, Mudappa 43rd) bt Annamalai University 2 (Raja 22nd, Ashwin 25th).

Standings: 1. Bangalore (six pts), 2. University of Madras (four pts), 3. Annamalai (two pts) and Bharathidasan (nil).
