FIH proposal turned down
NEW DELHI: The sports ministry has turned down a proposal from the International Hockey Federation (FIH) to place a 3-D logo on the field for enhancing the brand value of the sponsors during the Hero Honda World Cup here.
“There was genuine intent to see if the World Cup in India could be the first where such a logo would be seen in hockey. Unfortunately, after extensive discussions with the sports ministry, a solution of delivering such a logo has proved elusive.
“The FIH thanks the ministry for their consideration of this matter,” an FIH statement said on Saturday. — Sports Reporter
