Victoria (Canada): Dhananjay Mahadik scored twice as India overcame a determined Canadian challenge to win 4-3 in the second hockey Test and go 2-0 up in the seven-match series at the University of Victoria Ground here. The teams were locked 3-3 at half-time.
Apart from Mahadik’s strikes in the 32nd and 66th minute, the other goal-scorers for India were Mohd. Amir Khan (4th) and Shivendra Singh (21st). Wayne Fernandes (20th and 35th) and Rob Short (23rd) scored for Canada.
India made four changes in the line-up from its last game. Chief coach Jose Brasa fielded three debutants, Singapore junior World Cuppers Danish Mujtaba, Mohd. Amir Khan and Dharamvir Singh. — PTI
