Rajpal worried about India conceding goals

Rajpal Singh is upbeat about the display by the Indian men so far at the Olympics hockey qualifiers.

“The performance of the Indian team against various opponents was as per world hockey rankings. I hope the players continue the momentum right till the final,” said the striker and World Cup skipper.

“India conceding goals in one-sided matches is the only thing which worries me. I am sure the coaching staff has noticed this.”

He is among senior players overlooked for the Olympic qualifier now in progress at New Delhi. Rajpal will be donning Delhi Wizards colours at the Bridgestone World Series Hockey 2012 and is currently training to regain fitness in time for the inter-city event starting February end.

He along with internationals Adrian D’Souza (Mumbai Marines), Arjun Halappa (Karnataka Lions) and Prabhjot Singh (Sher-e-Punjab) were present for the WSH Trophy unveiling by actor Saif Ali Khan on Thursday.

Goalkeeper Adrian, forwards Arjun and Prabhjot are leading the respective sides in WSH.
