Shivendra Singh scored a brace as India extended their lead to 5-0 in the seven-match hockey series against Canada, winning the sixth game 3-1 at Tamanawis Park, Surrey, on Thursday.
Shivendra found the net in the 20th and 65th minute, with Sarwanjit Singh scoring in the 54th minute. Gabbar Singh managed to pull one back for Canada, converting a penalty stroke in the 47th minute. The last game of the series will be played on Saturday.

India dominated the proceedings and the margin of victory could have been bigger if they had capitalised on the chances that came their way. India had as many as six penalty corners but all attempts by captain Sandeep Singh, V Raghunath and Dhananjay Mahadik either went wide or were saved by Canada goalkeeper Matt Peck.
