UP team probables camp for U-14 hockey

The UP team probables camp for the 22nd All India KD Singh ‘Babu’ Memorial Sub-Junior Hockey Tournament is underway at Dhyanchand sports stadium, Lucknow. The tournament will be held at the same venue from January 24 and the final will be played on February 2— the birth anniversary of hockey giant KD Singh ‘Babu’. The tournament is organised every year by the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Memorial Society.

Talking to The Indian Express, technical secretary of the ‘Babu’ Society Olympian Syed Ali informed that based on the performance in the camp, a 16-member UP team for the under-14 tournament will be declared on January 20. “The team is practising hard under coach Rashid Aziz Khan and a lot of emphasis is being laid on the fitness level of the players. Unlike some of the past editions, this year only one UP team will be participating in the tournament,” he said. The tournament will be inaugurated at 2.30 pm on January 24 by Olympian Aslam Sher Khan.
