Imphal, May 16: Manipur Police Sports Club defeated Social Youth Union Club by 7-2 goals in their sixth match of the 35th Men’s Hockey League at Khuman Lampak hockey stadium.

Manipur Police are now leading the tally with 18 points.

The cops scored their opening goal in the sixth minute of play as S. Rabi Singh flicked home from a sharp pass.

The cops from then on dominated the show as forward P. Adeva struck three quick goals in the eighth, ninth and 12th minutes to bring up his hattrick.

M. Dhananjoy Singh opened the account for Social Youth, dodging the Manipur Police goalkeeper in the 17th minute.

S. Ronex Singh added to the tally, scoring the second goal in the 21st minute.

But two goals by P. Adeva in quick succession in the 22nd and 23rd minutes damaged any possibility of Social Youth resurgence in the game.

S. Bidyakumar Singh scored the seventh goal for the cops in the 37th minute to seal the game in their favour.

In another match, Moral Education Intellectual Renascent Athletic Association blanked Hockey Union by three goals.

Moral Education got their first goal in the second half, as Th. Kirankumar Singh converted a penalty corner in the 39th minute.
