Bali, Ralte in women’s hockey squad for Asian Games

BANGALORE: The Indian hockey selectors have made two changes in the 16-member women’s squad which will train in New Delhi from October 25 for the Asian Games.

Goalkeeper E Rajini and midfielder Asunta Lakra, who figured in India’s Commonwealth Games campaign, have been relegated to the standbyes’ list while their berths have been taken up by Yogita Bali and Rosalind Ralte respectively.

Coach in-charge Sandeep Somesh, who weathered a storm during the Rosario World Cup and the Delhi Games – with manager Rupa Saini calling for his head – will continue to be at the helm. Bronze medallists in the last Asian Games in Doha, the Indian women’s will take on Malaysia on Nov 13
