Campaign launched in UP to demand Bharat Ratna for Dhyan Chand
BHOPAL: A signature campaign has been launched in Jhansi, demanding hockey legend Dhyan Chand be posthumously given Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian honour in the country.
Around one lakh signatures would be submitted to President Pratibha Patil, seeking Bharat Ratna for Dhyan Chand, Former Member of Parliament Vishwanath Sharma told reporters in Bhopal.
Dhyan Chand was born in Prayag but the family eventually settled in Jhansi.
