Ticket sale for Olympic qualifiers starts on Thursday

NEW DELHI: Online ticket sales for the forthcoming Hockey Olympic qualifiers, to be held at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium from February 18-26, started from Thursday.

The tournament is the final opportunity for both the Indian men and women national teams to qualify for the London Olympic Games, scheduled to be held from July 27 to 12 August.

The tickets are available at www.ticketgenie.com. For the convenience of fans, tickets will also be available at over 40 outlets throughout the Delhi NCR. Details of the outlets are available on Hockey India’s website.

Prices for the tickets are fixed at Rs 300 and Rs 500 for the five group stage days, with tickets valid for all the six matches to be played each day.

For the two classification days, tickets will cost Rs 400 and Rs 1000, and valid for the three matches to be played each day.

In the men’s section Canada, France, Italy, Poland and Singapore are the other participating countries besides India, while in women’s Canada, Italy, Poland, South Africa and Ukraine are the other participating countries along with the hosts.

“The pricing of tickets are set to enable all hockey lovers from India can come, watch and show their support for the Indian Hockey teams on their mission to qualify for the London Olympics,” Elena Norman, chief executive officer, Hockey India said.
