Vodafone, Seagram’s Imperial Blue sign up as Official Sponsors of WSH

Mumbai, February 29:

Close to the announcement of Bridgestone bagging the Title Sponsorship of the Inaugural World Series Hockey, leading power brands Vodafone and Seagram’s Imperial Blue have signed up as Official Sponsors.

Yannick Colaco, COO Nimbus Sport said – “I am delighted to welcome Vodafone and Imperial Blue to our sponsor family. The response to the inaugural Bridgestone World Series Hockey has been quite spectacular from our fans and commercial partners. We will work closely with all our partners to create maximum value and a win-win partnership”

Anuradha Aggarwal, Sr.VP Consumer Insights and Communications of Vodafone said – “We have been associated with marquee sporting properties like IPL and F1. There is a definite upswing in terms of awareness and sentiments for our national game (Hockey). WSH has tremendous long term potential and we would like to create interesting and engaging outreach programs for our subscribers around this property,”

Bikram Basu, Vice President – Marketing of Pernod Ricard India said, “The WSH format is exciting. Hockey in India will hopefully deliver to potential and engage a wide and passionate audience over time. We saw a glimpse of this in the Olympic qualifiers. It feels good to support an initiative in this space with Seagram’s Imperial Blue, and we look forward to a successful tournament.”

The Bridgestone World Series Hockey kick started on February 29, 2012, and will involve 200 leading players — Indian and international — who will showcase their talent in 59 matches and vie for the biggest prize money for a hockey tournament in the world.
