Under-18 Asia Cup for girls will be held at Shanghai, China from 20-26 July 2009. The Indian team will be led by Ningomban Amubi Devi of Manipur. The 18-member team with four officials have been announced by the Hockey India. In addition, the team will have a Judge and umpire from India, who will also be travelling with the team.

Originally, former goalkeeper of Railways Suman Jaiswal was nominated as umpire, but in the last minute her name has been removed with T. Asha, creating some heart burns among the organizers.

The team will be leaving on 18th July 2009 for Shanghai from New Delhi. The team has come to Delhi today (Friday) and is staying at Rajdoot Hotel, near Nizamuddin.

India is in Pool A along with Chna, Sri Lanka and Thailand, while the other pool consits of Japan, Pakistan and South Korea.

India will take on Sri Lanka on 20th July, China on 21st and Thailand on 23rd July.

Classification matches will be played from 24th July onwards.
The final match is scheduled to be played on 26 July 2009 at 1630 hrs.
