We are the world’s best, and world’s worst: Jose Brasa.

Indian chief coach Jose Brasa saw lot of positive things in the outcome of India-Australia match played on Thursday, even though the hosts lost the match at a distant 2-5 score.

“Australia is a top side, they outplayed every team at Monchengladbach Champions Trophy recently. They even won the final with a four-goal margin. We could manage to outplay them for a considerable time in the match, and it is good for our team”, he said in his customary press conference.

“Yes, we gifted them with three ‘free goals’ in the match. And then in one of our penalty corners we tried to convert as a school boy would. Agreed these are things that ideally speaking should not have been there”, the Spaniard said.

Brasa was even at loss to understand why the boys who dish out excellently at the training sessions in set pieces and penalty corner sequences, fail to repeat even half of that in the match situations.

“We are the world’s best in the penalty corners during the training sessions. At the same time, we are the world’s worst when asked to do the same in the matches”, he offered the best quote of the ongoing 10-nation event.

“Even the goalie stood erected in some situations today, which he never used to do in the practice”, Brasa wondered.

His this explanation came when he was questioned whether India needs a psychologist.

“NBA team of USA has three Psychologists. We certainly need them. They will make the practice happens on the match situations”, he asserted.

Though Brasa was emphatic on the services of sports psychologist, captain Rajpal Singh differed with him’.

“It did not matter”, he said.

Brasa brought the media to the focus that his mandate is Asian Games, and hastned to add, “it doesn’t mean we undervalue this tournament. This is very much important to us”, he said.
