Whom to Blame?

Dark Tuesday is followed by Dark Sunday. Five days after losing to China, Indian men at Doha fails to break the Korean wall on Sunday, despite the fact that the Koreans were doing a favour by playing at half pace. India’s casual 1-1 was not enough as it finishes third in the pool. After 48 years, India will return medal-less in the Asian Games.

However, its enough proof that the Indian hockey is straight into Dark Era.

Whom to blame?

Players? Coaches? Selectors? The Indian Hockey Federation? Or the government that sees nothing wrong with the way Indian hockey is run, and the public money is wasted? Or, the Indian public who refuse to awaken despite one of their heritage is being systematically plundered by thieves and masquerades?

A beautiful game, a wonderful tradition, a tool of prestige even in colonial era is blown into smithereens by a handful few.

Gill has no glue. All his cohorts and cronies he fondly allowed to surround him made use of his ignorance – of sports administration and hockey affair in particular.

A country that can tolerate such masquerades, thieves, and stupids to run their heritage does not deserve any international acclaim. In a billion-people country, don’t we have a single powerful man who can win IHF election?

I blame the irresponsible Government and the unconcerned public for decay of Indian hockey. This is the big picture.
