Wife’s ‘return gift’ on birthday for Shiva

NAGPUR, June 13:

Shivendra Singh had given his wife Nishi many surprises during their courtship and even after their marriage. On Monday, Shivendra’s 29th birthday, it was payback time for Nishi.
Nishi gave her hubby the best of the gifts by flying down to Bhopal and celebrate his birthday on Sunday midnight. Shiva, as he is known in hockey circle, was surprised to see his life partner by his side when he was “feeling lonely”.
Shivendra is currently in Bhopal representing Air India in the ongoing senior national hockey championship.

“I wanted to give him a surprise. All these years Shiva gave me lots of surprises, before our marriage and even after it,” said Nishi, who got married to the Indian team forward last December.

“Since last few days Shiva used to say he was feeling lonely. So I decided to fly down to Bhopal from Mumbai and spend some time with him. I reached Bhopal on Sunday evening. He was surprised to see me. He couldn’t believe that I was in front of him. At midnight we cut a cake and celebrated his birthday in his hotel room,” said Nishi, also a former India hockey player, while talking to ‘The Hitavada.’

On Monday morning, the couple went to a nearby temple to seek blessings. Then it was shopping time at mall where Nishi gifted Shivendra a jeans and T-shirt which the ace Indian forward wore on his birthday.

“My surprise visit was the best gift I could give him, but yes, I gifted him a jeans and T-shirt which he wore today,” said Nishi.
In the evening Nishi boarded a train from Bhopal to Mumbai wishing Shivendra luck for future matches.

“This is so far the best birthday gift for me. I’ve never imagined that she would fly down here in Bhopal to celebrate my birthday. Since our marriage this is one of the best gifts she gave me,” said Shivendra.
