Asian Games men and women’s hockey squads have left India, but the mystery of missing women’s manager continues.
Hockey India in its offical communication has informed former Olympian Rupa Saini as the women’s team manager. However, sources indicate Rupa has not even now got any communication to the effect from HI, IOA or Sports Ministry.
As such she is still at her hometown Amritsar.
This effectively means the section of girls who canvassed against her inclusion have succeeded. With the result that there is no lady member in the team now except the girls themselves.
Sandeep Somesh and Khalid Modi are the coache with the team at present.
Rupa Saini was the manager for the last World Cup.
