Christopher Zeller underlined his prowess with a match-winner to enable Germany win their second World Cup title in 2006.
The tall striker ran the length of the pitch, jinking his way past a host of Australian defenders to score his second of the match and help script a 4-3 win.
Two years later, Zeller scored the match-winner – the only goal in the 2008 Beijing Olympic final against Spain to bring up Germany’s third gold medal.
The younger sibling of Germany teammate defender Philipp, duly won the 2006 FIH Rising Stars award for 2006.
Born on September 14, 1984, Zeller also has a third Olympic gold (London 2012) and a bronze (Athens 2004).
He turned out for Rot-Weiss Koln and Munchner SC in Germany and HC Bloemendaal in the Netherlands.
