Four-time Olympian of Australian team Eddie Ockendone

The Australian from Tasmania has been a fixture in the national side for over a decade. Eddie Ockenden’s leadership qualities renders him captain of the Kookaburras.
His versatility on the pitch, switching from midfield to attack and even lending a hand to the defence has made him a key factor in Australia’s continuing eminence in the sport.
Born on April 4, 1987, Ockenden’s longevity in the sport is remarkable. He has over 300 international caps accumulated after debuting in 2006 and bursting onto the scene at the Beijing Olympics where he helped the Green-and-Gold win a bronze medal before winning another bronze at London 2012.
Ockenden, however, has two World Cup gold medals from New Delhi 2010 and The Hague 2014.
He played for Tassie Tigers in the Australian league before joining Laren in the Dutch league in 2008.
Ockenden also turned out for UP Wizards in the Hockey India League.
