Natascha Keller, born on July 3, 1977, comes from a legendary hockey family.
Her grandfather Erwin won an Olympic silver medal at Berlin 1936. Her father Carsten, gold at Munich 1972. Brothers Andreas and Florin also won gold at Barcelona 1992 and Beijing 2008 to carry on an incredible tradition.
Natascha did her bit and more to sustain the golden lineage. She won Olympic gold at Athens 2004, the highlight of her glittering career which also included two Indoor World Cup top podium finishes in 2003 and 2011.
The numbers just grow. Natascha collected 389 outdoor caps, scored 209 goals and represented Germany at five Olympic Games displaying an amazing mix of dash and skill as a forward.
She duly won the FIH 1999 Player of the Year award.
She posted the winning goal against India in the 2006 Madrid World Cup and also in the Essen 4-Nation Cup.
