Stacey Michelsen, born February 18, 1991, made her debut in 2009 among a clutch of new players after New Zealand finished last at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Her talent and ability didn’t go unnoticed and she was voted 2011 FIH Rising Star.
The midfielder has grown to be a mainstay in the Black Sticks squad with over 280 internationals.
The Black Sticks has during this period finished fourth in two successive Olympics – London 2012 and Rio 2016 as well as 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games gold medallists.
Michelsen represents Northland in the New Zealand league.
