Born on 23rd March 1990, the Amritsar born Harbir Singh was an established defender with the Indian men's national hockey team. After figuring in the 2012 Champions Trophy and then in the 2013 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup his career took further height when selected for the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. However, he was denied visa by the host country and thus his career came to an abrupt, sad end.
