Legend of her own right, former player Prem Maya was integral part of National Women's Hockey team for about a decades in the 1970s and 80s. Hailing from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, she was role model for generation of players. She was deservedly honoured with Arjuna in 1985.
