Deep Grace Ekka is celebrated Indian women hockey team member. She will play her second successive Olympics at Tokyo. She is a defender. She hails from famous hockey region of Sundargarh in Odisha. Made her international debut in 2011 in the Argentina 4-Nation under coach CR Kumar. Since then she has been regular in the national team. She also led Junior India in the 2014 New Zealand tour. Completed her 200th cap in 2019 when played against South Korea in Jinchun.
She has played Asian Games twice (2014 & 2018), Commonwealth Games twice (2014 & 2018), Asia Cup (2013 & 2017); Hockey World League Round 3 thrice (2013,2015, 2017); World Cup (2018) besides innumerable AHF and invitational tournaments.
She also figured in the Olympic Qualifying Series against the USA in 2019, which India won and thus qualified for the Tokyo number. She won bronze at the Junior World Cup in 2013, Gold at the 2016 Asian Champions Trophy and the 2017 Asia Cup.   She has the unique feat of being the fastest women hockey player ever to achieve the 200th cap. She took just eight years for the feat while for most other women hockey players normally it takes three or four years more. She is also a useful penalty corner striker and can substitute goalkepper.
