Born on 15.04.1992 in in the holy city of Haridwar in Uttrakhand, forward Vandana belongs to the elite 200 Club. She played for India for the first time in 2009. This year travelled to Argentina to play in the Junior World Cup also. However, her great time came in 2011 when selected for the Asian Champions Trophy. Then came the Australia tour (test Series and Hockey 9s). Since made her senior international debut in 2009, Vandana has played Olympic (2016) and is selected for Tokyo too, thus becoming one of the rare 8 women's hockey double Olympian ; World Cup (2018); Asian Games (2014 & 2018); Asia Cup (2013 & 2017); Hockey World League Round 3 thrice (2013, 2015 & 2017); Commonwealth Games (2014 & 2018); and Junior World Cup (2013).  She also figured in the Olympic Qualifying Series against the USA in 2019, which India won and thus qualified for the Tokyo number.   • The greenhorn's goals helped India beat Australia in Australia in 2011.
  • Vandana scored 11 goals in the Hockey World League R2 in 2015 to get special award.
  • Winning Asian games Silver was her proud moment.
  • After Rio, she was given captaincy. That time India won its first-ever Asian Champions Trophy gold.
  •  She crossed important milestone in 2019. She player her 200th match when played against Great Britain. Only seven women hockey players in the decade have played 200 matche for India.
