Harendra Singh, who studied in Dayal Singh College in Delhi, is a famed defender of his times. He represented India at the Asian Games (1990). Later, he shone as a coach too. Under his brief stint with national women's team, India won the Asia Cup (2016), reached the semi-finals of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. However, Harendra Singh's popularity reached its zenith when his boys won the Junior World Cup in 2016 at Lucknow. He was also Indian coach for men at the 2018 World Cup & the  Asian Games.
