Born on 8th Aug.1983, winger Rajpal Singh won Junior World Cup in 2001. The Arjuna Awardee led India to silver at the Delhi Commonwealth Games, bronze at the 2010 Asian Games, followed by gold at the 2011 Asian Champions Trophy.

He was also one of the four native captains of dysfunct World Series Hockey (2011).

Winger Rajpal Singh was captain of the Indian national team, and the nation retained the Azlan Shah Cup at Ipoh under his leadership in 2010.

Rajpal Singh, captain of the national team, was in the news before the home world cup, as he unitedly led his team's fight for its rights with the hockey administrators. He is known for his fighting qualities on the turf, now it goes beyond that.

With electric heels, the winger makes ever one sit up and take note of him whenever he is on the field. Rajpal Singh has posted a numerous scintillating goals and also made others to score.

The complete team man is a graduate from Chandigarh’s SGGS Khalsa College and a product of Siwalik Public School. Rajpal Singh hogged the limelight with a sterling show at his first international outing at the 2001 Youth Asia Cup. India won the Cup at Ipoh, Malaysia, where he was also ‘Player of the Tournament’, with seven goals in his kitty.

Younger son of a retired police, he represented Chandigarh in Junior Nationals. After the Hobart Junior World Cup gold, he joined Indian Oil Corporation. A long wait for his senior debut ended when, under the tutelage of Rajinder Singh Jr., he travelled to the 2005 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup. Rajpal hasn’t looked back since.

He succeeded Deepak Thakur at the right wing. He ledshugely popular Chandigarh Dynamos in the PHL -- and is the city’s most liked and well recognized sports star.

He was made captain for the first time for the Salta Champions Challenge, Argentina,  whom India for bronze. He is presently working as Superintendent of Police with the Punjab Police.
