The Argentinean defender was voted FIH Payer of the Year for 2002, the same year that she assisted her country towards lifting the World Cup in Perth. The pic above was taken during one of her press conferences in that World Cup.
Born on December 1, 1976, she made her international debut in 1994 and was part of the group of players including the famed Luciana Aymar to develop the legend of the ‘Las Leonas’ (The Lionesses).
Rognoni also won an Olympic silver at Sydney 2000 and a bronze at Athens 2004. She donned the blue and white colours of Argentina 231 times
At the club level, she turned out for Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires and HC Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
