Delhi’s shivering cold weather does not seem to deter hockey activities.

A day after the North Zone Inter-University was over, now comes the National School Games.

56th National School Games hockey for Under – 17 Boys and Girls was inaugurated today (Wednesday)by Uttar Pradesh Education Minister Rangnath Mishra at Ghaziabad’s Nehru Stadium in a colorful programme.

The event is scheduled to be held from 5th Jan’2011 to 10th Jan’2011. All the matches will be played in Mahamaya Stadium in Ghaziabad.

23 boys team and 22 girls teams have converged from all over India to figure in the league cum knock out tournament; finals will be played on 10th Jan’2011 at 14 hrs.

Six matches were played today after the inauguration.
