New Zealand captures third successive win, defeat

New Zealand captures third successive victory, coming out clean against fighting Pakistan. As its established habit, it struck early and then did not allow any leeway to their rival to make a comeback.

New Zealand’s 3-1 win is their third in as many days after comprehensively defeating both India and Argentina in the first two days.

Pakistan came back and worked hard in the second half, but could only keep the Kiwis score low compared to India and Argentina, where the Kiwis struck five easy goals.
New Zealand Ryan Archibald’s strong forehand in the 8th minutes gave the lead, and then Andy Hayward, the ultimate man of the match, converted team’s first penalty corner in the 11th min to expand the lead, and also to troop out for lemon with things under controls.
Nick Wilson struck the third blow in the 32nd minute, which took away the match from Pakistan.

Pakistan really had every thing going in the late second half, but their forwards were bit wasteful and fanciful.

Striker Haseem of course turned gently and send a back pass off parallel feed that came from the right side of the circle to give Pakistan a semblance of fight back. 26th minutes were left for the play time since then, yet the Pakistan palyers could not convert their dominance into goal.

Pakistan missed as many as three chances to make a match of it, though it was not to be.

Andy Hayward was declared the Man of the match
