Ranchi Rhinos took a sweet revenge today, when they defeated home team Uttar Pradesh Wizards 3-1, after having lost to them 0-2 in the first encounter last week.

In a dull game that came alive only in the last quarter, Mandeep Singh latched on to a rebound from goalie to put his side ahead, and then he connected Nick Wilson’s cross to enhance the lead.

This was the only penalty corner they got, and they gained, whereas VR Raghunath could not make use of all the three penalty corners of his side.

Joren Hertzberger deflected a long diagonal pass of Harbir Singh to reduce the margin, but in the same minute Rhino’s lightening counter attack settled the issue beyond the reach of the host team.
