Indian won posted their second successive victory in as many as matches today, defeating fighting Malaysia 3-0 on Day Two of Round Two in the Hockey World League on Tuesday.

Winger Vandana Kataria, who was later declared as Player of the Match, struck first two goals before comeback kid Rani Ramphal came out with her characteristic goal late in the second half.

Vandana Kataria deflected a penalty corner push for her first goal in the ninth minute and then came on her own shortly after second half commenced to add to her tally.

Rani latched on to a back pass by hardworking Saundarya Yandala to stamp a forehand that bemused Malaysian goalie and the half dozen defenders.

However, despite the scoreline, Indian women have nothing much to celebrate.

Malaysia played well all through and gave torrid times to the porous Indian defenece.

Malaysia had their chance when Jaspreet Kaur fumbled to trap a back pass, and Nor Azlin Sumanatri stole it to enter the circle. With facing only goalie Yogita Bali, she harried her push, which went wide to the right of the net.

It was close call for India.
