India – Malaysia at World Cup
India and Malaysia have so far played three matches in the world cup. FIrst one being 1975 when India won them 3-2, via extra time goal by Harcharan Singh.
Then they met in the Bombay world cup, where the hosts swamped them with 6-2 score, Rajinder Singh featuring in a hattrick.
The third and last time they met in the world cup was in Malaysia in 2002 where Paul Lissek’s team won defeated them 3-2. Indian team was trained by Cedric D’Souza
Since then Malaysia did not qualify for the next two world cups.
