We are confident for Olympics berth: Ritusha Arya

New Delhi, 14 May 2015: As the FIH Hockey World League Semi-Finals draws ever closer, the very proficient Indian forward, Ritusha Kumari Arya is striving hard to ensure a place in the Indian squad for the FIH Hockey World League Semi-Final (Women) slated in Belgium from 20 June – 04 July 2015.

Being a part of Indian Women Hockey Core Probable’s team, the 22 year old young player is undergoing training in preparations for the FIH Hockey World League Semi-Final. The talented forward is in prime form and will prove to be a big threat to the formidable defence-line of the opponents. Highly successful in breaking the tactical formation of the rival teams in the recently concluded 5th Senior Women National Championship, Division A, Ritusha currently sitting on her 22nd cap will be eyeing to crown the all important tournament this year.

Speaking on the preparations for the upcoming tournament, Ritusha Kumari Arya said, “I am very confident of my current form. We are undergoing rigorous training sessions which are helping us to take our game a notch higher. Getting polished under the excellent Chief Coach Mathias Ahrens, the team looks determined to put on a good show and qualify for the Rio Olympics 2016. The focus is on longer ball possession and tackling which will help us earn the crucial goals.”

FIH Hockey World League Semi-Final is scheduled to take place from 20 June – 04 July 2015 at Antwerp (Belgium). India is placed in Pool B and will be clashing against Belgium in its first match to be played on 20th June 2015 at 08:30 IST.
