A jewel defender from the popular tribal belt of Sundargarh district, Binita is presently employed with Western Railways. She is a product of Panposh Sports Hostel, Rourkela. She proved her worth in the last Madrid World Cup with a stellar display. She made her junior international debut in 2000 as a member of the team that went to Germany and senior debut four years later in the Australia tour.
