She is the vice-captain of the Indian national women's hockey team that participated in the Kazan Olympic Qualifier. As a sweeper back stout Suman played a prominent role in her state Haryana winning the Tirupati Federation Cup and reaching the finals of the Chennai Sr. Nationals and the Manipur National Games. A student of Guru Nanak Dev Sr. Secondary School in Shahbad (Kurukshetra District), Haryana, made her junior international debut in 2000. She scored a goal in her debut match against Germany at Hanover and, as moved with more engagements, struck a hat-trick against Taiwan in the Junior Asia Cup. Among other laurels, her greatness lies in her winning the gold at the Afro-Asian Games 2003 and the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games.
