Born on 7th Feb 1987, the all rounder Deepika Thakur played a key role in India winning the first-ever Asian Champions Trophy in Singapore in November 2016. She was also top scorer in Singapore.

With a hawkish urge, she latched on to a rebound from China goalkeeper in the penalty corner drill to post the Tournament Winner at Singapore just 17 seconds before the full time.
Deepika Thakur is the most capped player of India after Ritu Rani.
She led India at the Hawkes Bay Cup 2016.
The dashing forward from Jamuna Nagar in Haryana is a product of Sports Hostel, Chandigarh. She works for Railway Coach Factory, Kapurthala.
She retired from international hockey after winning Silver at the Jakarta Asian Games in 2018.
She is one of the longest survived Indian hockey player of all times. She had an international career spanning 15 years.
