Ranjeet Singh is a talented midfielder. He is a product of Delhi based Punjab National Bank Academy, and is also employed with the same bank. Before migrating to Delhi to join these institutions, he had his hockey lessons at the Kirloskar Hockey Academy (Jalandhar), trained under eyes of coach Cedric D’Souza. He figured in the finals of the last Senior National Championship at Jalandhar and his team Delhi won the Silver after a gap of 60 years. Young Ranjeet made his junior and senior international debut under coach AK Bansal in 2007 and 2008 respectively. He won the silver in Kuala Lumpur 8-Nation invitational tournament, also in the 17th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, both in 2008.
