Sports College bounced back from a goal deficit to defeat Babu Society 2-1 in a hardfought encounter of the Lucknow district hockey league at Babu stadium. In the other match of the day, Northern Railway had an easy time against Red Eagle Club prevailing 6-0.

After a barren first-half, Babu Society took the lead against Sports College when Vijay Thapa struck for them in the 31st minute. But Sports College restored parity two minutes later through Suraj. Then the match-winner for Sports College was scored by Durga in the 43rd minute.

In the other match, Northern Railway were head and shoulders ahead of their rivals, striking six times without reply. For them Prem (48th, 58th), Rajneesh (4th), Prashant (25th), Manish (27th), Daud (56th) were the scorers.
